ACT-Test

Test rig for the ACT-Test

This tool is used for compressive tests on micro-corrugated board square disks.

The disk is placed into a frame, which can be opened at its right side. The frame itself consists of 90° notched legs. At the left side of the frame, a screw drive ist notched leg frame together with the side load simulate the glued edges of a box, made of the same material.

During the test, the compression fin (upper frame part) pushes against the sample and squeezes it until it fails. The fin is supported via ball bearings and remains its position constant over the entire test sequence.

In the test, the sample´s deformation is similar to that of a box (bulge effect).

Therefore (customer´s statement) there is a very close correlation between this test an a crush test on a box. As a result the first maximum of the monitored force is used.
