To determine the impact strength of plastics to CHARPY as per ISO 179-1 and to IZOD as per ISO 180, Zwick has developed a fully automatic testing system with two pendulum impact testers and a temperature chamber.

The system consists of a specimen magazine which can hold 2000 specimens, a temperature chamber with refrigeration unit, an industrial robot to remove the specimen from the temperature chamber, and pendulum impact testers for Charpy specimens and Izod specimens.

Instead of the pendulums, the system can be equipped with a high-speed impact tester.
