Widely acknowledged as the pioneer materials testing forum in the Asia-Pacific region, the Asian Forum for Materials Testing was once again instrumental in showcasing the latest trends and technologies in materials testing systems and solutions.
The 5th Asian Forum for Materials Testing was held recently in the capital of one of Asia's economic powerhouses, Seoul, Korea. Organised by Zwick Asia Pte Ltd and its sales agent in Korea, MTM Corporation, the two-day event proved to be a perfect platform to foster successful business alliances and share testing knowledge with the industry.
Inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Norbert Baas, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Korea, the Forum included speakers from Germany and Korea. Innovative topics ranging from static multi-axis testing for automotive applications to Zwick's latest devices for the plastics industry, presented delegates from every industry the different solutions Zwick Roell is able to offer.
Zwick's complete portfolio of plastics testing equipment was showcased. Ranging from the HIT series of pendulum and drop weight impact testers to the new line of melt flow indexers, there was a relevant device for every part of the supply chain. Complementing the plastics portfolio, were Zwick's hardness testers for metals and rubber. The highlight remained the flagship Allround universal testing machine, automated for tensile tests on thermoplastics with the high resolution and high travel extensometer, multiXtens.
A Service and Modernization zone included a modernized machine and a demonstration of calibration equipment to ISO standards. Coupled with the opening of the Zwick Roell Korea Service Center by Mr. Kim Wan Hee, Chairman of the Korea Importers Association, the event promised even higher standards of after sales service for Zwick's extensive customer base in Korea.
With the overwhelming success of the 5th Asian Forum for Materials Testing and the 17th International Forum for Materials Testing scheduled for October in Germany, 2008 is bound for another series of forums and events, highlighting the best in materials testing. | |
