High Temperature Testing Forum Showcases Latest Capabilities in Non-Ambient Testing

Messphysik, part of the Zwick Roell Group and based in Austria, hosted the Zwick Roell Forum for High Temperature Testing on May 31.

The educational event focused on providing the latest insights on testing at elevated temperatures, as well as cutting-edge solutions developed by Messphysik and Zwick.

Seventy-six customers and 31 sales partners from 24 countries attended the event to listen to presentations held by internationally renowned experts in materials testing. Workshops on creep and high-temperature testing as well as optical strain measurement were held at the exhibits to give attendees an overview of the testing solutions and expertise Messphysik offers.

A new temperature chamber available from Zwick was among the capabilities presented at the event. Several design elements of the new temperature chamber help operators achieve reliable test results. A sophisticated air-feed system delivers consistently uniform temperature distribution. Pre-configured control parameters enable the desired temperature to be reached quickly and precisely. The new design guarantees stable temperatures and ensures that the test specimen is always the right temperature.

Compatible with contact and optical extensometers, the new temperature chamber includes a guide rail system that moves the unit into position when needed and removes it from the test area when not in use. Intelligent testing features in the testXpert III testing software detect the chamber’s position and automatically activate the corresponding safety device, protecting operators and investment.

In addition to networking with materials testing experts, attendees were also able to speak to Messphysik about their specific projects. The event also featured a cultural program that included a tour of the city of Fürstenfeld, Austria and a wine tasting event in the evening. Guests were impressed by the comprehensive exhibits and hospitality. Due to the extremely positive feedback from this year’s event, Messphysik plans to hold the event again next year.
