To cater for the increased demand for testing in its central laboratory for cold-rolled strip in Shanghai, Bao Steel has added a Zwick robotic testing system to its range of machinery. Positive experience during a business relationship stretching back over 10 years, plus the high reliability levels of Zwick’s automation solutions, once again tipped the scales in favor of the Zwick system.

Zwick’s  Z100  AllroundLine materials testing machine (Fmax 100 kN) is combined with the firm’s ‘roboTest L‘ specimen feeder to deliver an ‘all-in, no worries’ package for automated tensile tests on metals. At the end of the test the results are assigned to the specimen and stored in the database, ensuring full documentation of the test in addition to standard-compliant tensile testing and the reduction of external influences.

The roboTest L robtic testing system can perform fully automatic tensile tests on metal specimens, for example to EN 10002-1, ASTM E8 or JIS Z2201. The magazine can accommodate up to 160 specimens, depending on dimensions.
